For me, it’s this one. At least there is a great Saxon cover with a super cheesy 80s video, including 270 degree guitar rotation during the solo:

I like eurobeat. There, I said it.

Well then I’ve got you covered - East Side Beat, 1991, factory mix.

I played “Drivin’ Crazy” for my girlfriend once. She loves it, and the other day messaged me that she shouted “dorifto!” when her Elantra GT lost traction during a turn.
So, count me in with the Eurobeat thing.

The question is, what doesn’t make me want to drive fast?

INXS, New Sensation (video broken?)

I quit exposing my friends to showtunes, and I will do the same here. But, Grease soundtrack is probably acceptable because it’s a movie soundtrack.

What INXS is uncool? Oh wait, yeah, that thing that happened.

Ashamed? Not one.
Ok.. Maybe a little with Marky Mark.
And a bit with Dangerous. Maybe..

I dunno any that I’m ashamed of, so I’ll just share one that never fails to make me drive fast. Though the whole album is dangerous to listen to while driving, to be fair

Feva for the Flavor by Hot Action Cop.
There is a local highway the looks exactly like the one in NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 that goes through a forest. It’s really hard to contain myself if this song starts playing.

I could cruise the Autobahn at 250 km/h to this.

That can’t be kind to the speakers in the vintage Toyota products.

(I mean, I like prog and I like Focus, but you gotta feel a bit weird going fast to a song with flute solos in it...)
(or the studio version...)

Yes I know. Now leave me to my shame.

Question for guitar oppos: what is it called when you use your picking hand to finger the solo like that at 2:16 in the second video?

Speaking of movie soundtracks, here’s another candidate for me, from Running Scared.

My tickets have been to the Rolling Stones.
Didn’t have the stereo on the two times I’ve been arrested. Hope I don’t skew the results.

Nothing wrong with angry flute. EVER.
![]() 03/12/2017 at 00:00 |

That seems like a valid legal defense, but sometimes it’s easier to pay the ticket.
Though I’m confused, wouldn’t keeping the Stones on to prevent arrest be cheaper than posting bail?

That’s irrelevant — tape deck in the Tercel doesn’t work, and the pickup is AM radio only!

Songs like this will make me inadvertently drive faster.
It’s not necessarily a great song, and by no means a particularly good video, but it’s just one of those pump up songs. I would poke fun at my girlfriend by calling it a toe tapper.
I also really avoid listening to metal while driving because that will make me more aggressive than need be.
I tend to stick to easy listening or chillstep while driving. It’s not in a hurry, so neither am I.

Just off the top of my head:
And this one especially when Danny comes in at around 1:17

Days Go By - Dirty Vegas. Why am I ashamed to admit it? It’s because of that damn Mitsubishi Eclipse commercial.

Exactly why I’m slightly ashamed that I like the track so much. They didn’t produce any Eclipses after 1999.

No shame here. Kick start my heart. Most songs from Joe Satriani’s Surfing with the alien stand a good chance as well
